Here at Acorn Roofing Supplies, we stock a wide variety of low pitch roofing tiles from the leading manufacturers, Marley, Sandtoft, Redland, Forticrete and Condron.
A roof below 17.5 Degrees is usually classed as a low-pitched roof, they are generally used in the construction of house extensions.
One of the main concerns with a lower pitched roof is that there is a higher chance of water ingress into the roofing space, As water takes longer to drain off of a roof at lower pitches, capillary action is also a major contributing factor, as such roofing tile manufacturers have designed Low pitch tiles which differ from standard tiles with features such as anti-capillary channels, interlocking tiles and smoother surfaces to aid with water runoff.
Other considerations to note when installing a low-pitched roof, Head lap’s (the overlap of the tiles) will need to be increased with lower pitches thereby increasing the total number of tiles required.
